Understanding Empathy
Empathy is feeling what another person is feeling through a common experience or understanding. It is not just feeling pity for another person, but feeling a true pain in reflecting on what another person is going through.

To help so empathy, we watched two commercials. One involved a man who had "empathy" (my opinion is he was feeling sympathy) for many people and could imagine what a dog at an animal shelter was going through. Another involved another person feeling empathy.

Empathy allows us to connect to other human beings and helps us gain a sense of compassion and understanding of what people are going through. Even though many o the activities in this program left me feeling like I hadn't heard anything important, empathy really is an important thing. I will try and remember it.
