Chapter 7 Test and Retest

When Mrs. Toe handed out the Chapter 7 review, I finally understood what she meant by why every student "dies" during Chapter 7.  This unit, trig functions, is the hardest in PreCalculus.  At the end of the unit when our class took the test, I turned it in knowing I didn't do well.  When I got the grade back and watched my PreCal grade drop 10% in one "refresh" of PowerSchool, I knew I had to work incredibly hard to get an A that quarter.  When Mrs. Toe offerred a retest, I took the oppurtunity and studied faithfully all week.  After I took the test, I knew the studying had paid off.

The experience of having to work hard to fix a mistake taught me two lessons: to work harder the first time so there isn't a second time, and to not panic when faced with adversity.  Learning these lessons was vital to success in PreCal and being a leader as whole.  (Third Quarter ended up being my highest grade in PreCal.)

Trig Functions Project

When Mrs. Toe described this project as our "grade-saver" for Quarter Three, I knew I was in for it.  This project required a combination of almost every skill I had learned in the first semester by requiring each student to build an image using the six trig function graphs on an online graphing calculator.

This project was another lesson in time-management.  This time, unlike the Air Drop project, I was able to plan the project and completed it in time.  Watching people forget to do the project and do it the night before reminded me of the importance of foresight and time management and how both of those skills equate to success.
