Communication is any way that two things or people express and receive ideas and information.  We do it all the time - through talking, texting, and social media.

To model our communication, we drew a diagram of ourselves in the middle and the names of twenty people that we in some way communicate with.  We placed the names in proximity to our name based on how much we communicate with that person.  After that was over, we wrote how we communicate with that person as well as some commentary on effective communication.

Effective communication is personal, respectful, and involves many of the ideas in Leadership 101 and Active Listening.  In the future, I will remember that communication happens in many different ways and that in all ways, I need to be respectful of the other person and careful to communicate my ideas and my understanding of what they're trying to say better.
