Chapin Sequioas Standing Tall

Chapin Sequioas Standing Tall, the ALA Sophomore project, is an engagement program with the aim of planting sequioa trees around Chapin to raise community awareness and unity while providing a means of service to the town and the enviroment. With over 90 trees planted across the Midlands, the Chapin Sequioa Project continues to be an exciting connection between classroom and community.  My role included presenting the project to groups like the Chapin United Methodist Women, as well as planting trees at Chapin High School.  This project helped change my definition of leadership to help understand the role individuals play in the overall group.  Cooperation, understanding, and patience have been necessary to execute the project.
