Managing Conflict

Conflict happens every day.  It is the disagreement between two parties or between to conflicting viewpoints.  When we experience conflict, we have to be careful to understand why it's happenign and get to the root of the problem rather than just hurling insults.

To help model conflict, Mrs. Maylath had us write down a conflict and then share it with another person in the room.  The other person then asked us questions about the conflict and offered theor "third-party" opinion on the matter.

In the future, I will remember that conflict can seem really important to me, but a lot of times I take a great deal of responsibility for whatever the issue is.  Also, the people I'm fighting with are people themselves and I need to respect them for that.  The existence of third parties helps in managing conflict.
